ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The Princethorpe Shield
In November 2024, I was awarded the 'Princethorpe Shield' at Princethorpe College's Prize Giving. The Princethorpe Shield is described, by the College, as "our oldest and most prestigious College award, was presented by Mr and Mrs Martin "as a token of our appreciation and gratitude for all that the school has done for our two sons". The shield is awarded annually to the student who is seen to embody the spirit and ethos of the College in many facets of school life".
The Princethorpe Shield was described in the schools conclusion of the evening as, “The final award, the Princethorpe Shield, presented annually to the student who is seen to embody the spirit and ethos of the College, was presented to Connor Silvester. It was a very popular decision, with the audience cheering as a delighted and surprised Connor came up to receive the Shield.”
I was personally very determined to get the Princethorpe Shield as I had dreamt of achieving the shield since watching awardees getting the Shield in years prior.
The A-level Government and Politics Award
In November 2024, I was also awarded the 'A-level Politics and Government award' which is awarded to the student who shows great interest in Government and Politics, coming to class with great background knowledge of the subject.
Princethorpe College Ethos Award
This award was given in December 2023, for showing outstanding ethos across the school. Given to 8% of the school year. Awarded for societies and volunteer work.
Biodun Olanrewaju Memorial Prize
Awarded in November 2023, at Princethorpe College's annual Prize Giving, the Biodun Olanrewaju Memorial Prize goes to the student "who best embodies the spirit and values of Princethorpe. This award is awarded annually in memory of Bioudin Olanrewaju who passed away while his sons were boarding at the college. The award was given in gratitude by the family for the care and support given to Biodun's three sons: Tunde, Jide and Yemi. It is a great honour to be chosen and it reflects your fine contribution to school life."
Da Vinci Honour Award
Awarded in July 2023, this prestigious award is given to few individuals at the Headmasters assembly each year. To achieve this award you have to be stellar in 3 key disciplines; creativity, commitment, presentation. I have collected a number of the prestigious da Vinci merits over the academic year (2022-2023) to enable me to receive the honour award.
